We grow nearly forty kinds of dahlia, and from August until the first frost they are the reason we get up at five.
This armful is ten of the best stems that morning, chosen to go together: usually our own hot pink seedling, Hollins Pink, a tangerine, a sunny yellow and a deep magenta to make the others glow.
Dahlias drink a lot. Give them deep water and they will reward you for most of a week.
