The Hedgerow is the bouquet we make most. It starts in the rose bed and ends at the hedge along the lane, and in between it picks up whatever is at its best that week.

In June it is mostly roses and sweet peas; by September it is dahlias, cosmos and the first blackberries. We wrap it in kraft paper with its stems in a tied bag of water, so it travels well.

Looking after it

Trim a centimetre off the stems at an angle, use a clean vase and change the water every other day. Take out anything that fades first and the rest will keep going.
